The UW Sustainability office collaborates with many offices and departments on campus to implement sustainability projects and programs. Our campus sustainability partners work within their areas of expertise to advance sustainability at the University of Washington and also partner with our office and the Environmental Stewardship Committee on University-wide initiatives such as the Climate Action Plan, sustainability metrics and more. Below are a sampling of some of our partners across the university who are working on sustainability efforts.

UW Bothell At UW Bothell environment and human sustainability is one of seven campus priorities. Bothell utilizes natural landscaping and native plants in their grounds, maintains an electric vehicle fleet for the grounds crew, has Lucid Designs utility dashboards in their buildings where students can learn about electricity consumption, and has been working for over 10 years to restore the wetland areas near campus. Bothell also has newly installed electric hand dryers which reduce paper consumption, goats which provide weed removal instead of pesticide use, and many academic courses and programs for students to learn about the environment and sustainability. |

UW Business Diversity & Equity The UW Business Diversity & Equity (BDE) is committed to ensuring that vendors, suppliers, service providers, consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors who serve the University reflect the diversity of the Washington state business community. The Program helps strengthen the economic development and viability of small, minority and women-owned businesses and helps to ensure that the University receives quality goods and services with eco-friendly green options at competitive prices. UW Creative Communications / Mailing Services UW Creative Communications is your source for official UW letterhead and business cards, web design, and all your copy and print needs. Creative Communications uses 100% recycled paper, encourages consolidation of printers when possible, and helps UW save paper by defaulting printing to double sided across campus. Mailing Services, a division of Creative Communications, works to reduce junk mail delivery to campus and maintains a fleet of hybrid mail trucks for all on-campus mail deliveries. |

UW Custodial Services The Custodial Division of Finance & Facilities practices environmentally-conscious cleaning and sanitation procedures. The team has a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. They have established a ‘Green’ Cleaning Policy and ‘Green’ Cleaning Guidelines to educate staff and to develop partnerships among faculty and staff. |

UW Environmental Health & Safety The Environmental Health & Safety department is responsible for addressing environmental issues in order to provide a safe educational and work place on campus. EH&S provides a number of resources for campus including recycling guides for laboratories, training on proper chemical disposal and use, air quality monitoring and control, and much more. |

UW Facilities UW Facilities is a recognized leader in sustainable campus management and a critical part of the University of Washington Climate Action Plan. They are continually improving practices and modeling the sustainable management of buildings, grounds, energy, water and transportation systems. |

UW Grounds Management UW Grounds Management operates, maintains and supports the development of quality campus grounds, utilities, and building envelopes, and provide services efficiently and effectively in support of the University's teaching, research and public service programs. |

UW Housing & Food Services Housing & Food Services (HFS) provides healthy, sustainable dining options for the campus community in addition to promoting and coordinating educational programs in the residence halls related to composting, recycling and conservation. All service ware used in HFS facilities is 100% compostable, helping UW come one step closer to the goal of zero waste. Additionally HFS sources as much local and ethically produced food as possible while maintaining affordable prices for students. |

UW Intercollegiate Athletics Intercollegiate Athletics is working to make UW sporting events more sustainable by increasing waste diversion through recycling and composting initiatives. Also, lookout for the Green Minute during football and other sports games. |

UW Procurement Services Procurement Services promotes environmentally preferred purchasing (EPP) as defined by the National Associate of Educational Procurement, meaning that environmental and social considerations are “taken with equal weight to the price, availability and performance criteria that colleges and universities use to make purchasing decisions." |

UW Recycling UW Recycling helps the University divert as much waste as possible from the landfill. They have an extensive management plan and integrated approach to waste diversion that includes programs for recycling paper, mixed containers, toner cartridges, electronic media and much more. UW Recycling drives programs for composting food waste, compostable serviceware, clean wood and landscape debris, and educates the campus on ways they can reduce their waste. |

UW Surplus UW Surplus offers a convenient way for the University to reuse office supplies, machinery and equipment by reselling unwanted items to the general public and to other UW units and departments. This system helps divert usable items from the landfill into the hands of someone who will find use from those items. |

UW Tacoma UW Tacoma plays an active role in UW's sustainability efforts, working to reduce carbon emissions and utility consumption, partnering with other campuses to develop sustainability curriculum for the region, installing the first LEED-Gold building for existing buildings, and celebrating sustainability with Earth Day activities and the South Sound Sustainability Summit. UW Tacoma's Environmental Science Program was a winner of the 2010 Husky Green Award. |
