UW's Sustainability Action Plan
The UW's Climate Action Plan (CAP) was first published in 2009. Since then the UW has adopted newer Sustainability Action Plans including updated Greenhouse Gas reduction targets. The Sustainability Action Plans build on the work of the Climate Action Plan to reflect the UW's current sustainability goals.
Climate Action Plan (CAP) archive
The University of Washington first published its Climate Action Plan (CAP) in 2009 with carbon reduction goals: to reduce emissions 15% below 2005 levels by 2020, and 36% below 2005 levels by 2035. We also analyzed potential carbon reduction actions and evaluated them based on factors such as potential for carbon reduction, and financial and political costs. The findings are published in the Marginal Abatement Cost Curve (pdf). The CAP was also updated in 2010.
