Here in the Pacific Northwest, we are known for our rainy weather, so it can feel like we have an unlimited supply of water year round. However, even our local water supply is under pressure from climate change - in the warmer months we rely on a strong snowpack to keep reservoirs full, and that snowpack will reduce as weather warms. hosted our first teach-in and mixer on Climate Justice and Collective Action in collaboration with student groups on campus and community organizations in Seattle. We heard from student speakers and environmental activists from ICA, EPSA, UW Solar, UW Sustainability with the presentation focused on applying a Just Transition to the decarbonization plan at UW and local efforts in Washington.
