If you’ve been to a basketball or volleyball game this year, you’ve likely seen signs and bins asking you to return your reusable cup. Or you got a drink from the concession stand in a reusable cup, and you found the extra bin for its return.
UW Athletics is looking for a few people to lead clean-up groups on Sunday mornings after home football games during the 2023 season. People can sign up for all games or just some. This will be about a three-hour commitment on the Sunday mornings helping to clean up Husky Stadium and will help UW Athletics work toward its waste diversion goals.

This April, there are many opportunities to volunteer on campus. Both the UW Farm and Society for Ecological Restoration have multiple volunteer sessions each week providing opportunities to get your hands in the dirt. The UW Botanic Gardens are co-hosting the annual Arboretum Earth Day restoration event, and you can also find many other organizations throughout Seattle and our region hosting volunteer events as well.
Here are a few of the ways to volunteer this month at the UW:
Join Campus Rx, a joint collaboration between UW Nature and Health, UW Botanic Gardens, the UW Farm and UW Sustainability, for a volunteer work party and lunch on August 19 at 9-11 a.m.
The work party and lunch are intended to build community around spending time outdoors. Whether you're a student, faculty member, staff, or community member, join us to learn more about sustainable agriculture, food systems, and our role in the community! Space is limited to 30 people so please register early!
There are two volunteer opportunities at the Center for Urban Horticulture this Monday, January 17, as part of the MLK Day of Service. Anyone with proof of vaccination can volunteer with the UW Farm from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. UW students also have the chance to volunteer with the Society for Ecological Restoration's Native Plant Nursery from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m.
It's almost football season, and UW Athletics needs your help to keep Husky Stadium clean, green and beautiful. Sign up today to be a part of the 2021-2022 Game Day Sustainability Team!
The Society for Ecological Restoration - UW Chapter works to promote ecological restoration and bring students together around this goal at the UW. SER-UW organizes restoration volunteer work parties across campus. This quarter, they're able to hold work parties in groups of five people or less.

You can help Husky Athletics make a difference! UW Athletics is looking for volunteers to help reach our Zero Waste goal in Husky Stadium this Fall. Everyone is encouraged to sign up, and groups are welcome.
Volunteers are especially needed for the early-season games, starting with August 31 against Eastern Washington.
UW’s annual Earth Day celebration is coming up Monday, April 22, and the student planning committee is looking for volunteers to help out before, during, and after the event, as well as to table during the week leading up to Earth Day. Volunteers are not required nor expected to volunteer during the entire duration of the event .
