The University of Washington will host the 2026 Washington & Oregon Higher Education Sustainability Conference (WOHESC) on the Seattle campus March 2-4, 2026.

The Washington & Oregon Higher Education Sustainability Conference (WOHESC) will be hosted by the University of Washington on March 2-4, 2026. The conference is now accepting proposals for program content, speakers and sessions.
The 2026 conference theme is "Still, We Rise: Intergenerational Leadership for a Sustainable Future." Proposals will be accepted until October 17, 2025. See the details below or as a PDF.

The University of Washington will host the 2026 Washington & Oregon Higher Education Sustainability Conference (WOHESC) on the Seattle campus March 2-4, 2026.
WOHESC brings together staff, faculty and students from schools across our region as well as community partners to advance sustainability in higher education. The conference will be held primarily at the UW's Husky Union Building. WOHESC conferences feature presentations from a wide variety of sustainability practitioners in sessions, keynotes, panel discussions, workshops and more.

The Washington & Oregon Higher Education Sustainability Conference (WOHESC) is now accepting proposals for the next conference, to be held March 5-7, 2025, at Portland Community College. The conference theme is "Cultivating Sustainable Communities."

The 2024 Washington & Oregon Higher Education Sustainability Conference (WOHESC) will feature a Makers Market for the first time.
The Market will be Tuesday, March 5 from 1 - 6:30 p.m. during the conference held at Western Washington University in Bellingham. Artists and crafters of all types focused on sustainability are welcome. As part of the market, makers are welcome to sell products and wares. (Please note: All payment processing is the sole responsibility of participating makers).

Earlier this month, several members of the UW Sustainability and Campus Sustainabilty Fund teams traveled to Oregon State University for the 2023 Washington & Oregon Higher Education Sustainability Conference (WOHESC). Around 400 people from across the region, including students, staff, faculty and community partners, came together to discuss the sustainability challenges we face and share ideas.

The Washington & Oregon Higher Education Sustainability Conference (WOHESC) is now accepting proposals for the next conference, to be held March 2-4, 2022. The conference theme is "The Path Forward to an Equitable and Regenerative Economy." The conference program will look at fair, equitable and sustainable economies, and rebuilding with a clean, green careers-driven approach.

The 2021 Washington & Oregon Higher Education Sustainabliity Conference (WOHESC) will be February 11-12. This year's conference is fully virtual, and several UW students, faculty and staff are among the speakers and panelists taking part in sessions over the two-day conference.
