UW Sustainability is hiring for a part-time student program assistant position with hours ranging from 15-19 hours per week, during our office hours 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday. We are located in Gerberding Hall Room B40.
Position will start Nov. 1, 2016. Pay will be $13-15 per hour.

Cornell University and the University of Washington are both national leaders for sustainability movements on college campuses. In fact, they both made The Princeton Review’s 2017 Green College Honor Roll, in which schools must receive a score of 99 (the highest possible score) in a Green Rating tally.
Fall quarter is officially underway, and that means a full slate of sustainability events on campus. The University of Washington’s College of the Built Environment, College of Engineering, College of the Environment and UW Tacoma Urban Studies have signed the Educators Commitment on Resilient Design.
This fall, the Campus Food Pantry is working to help address food insecurity in the UW community.
The food pantry will be open the first Tuesday of every month - starting next Tuesday, Oct. 4 - in HUB 214 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., as well as at the Ethnic Cultural Center on Oct. 19 and Nov. 16 from 6-8 p.m. The food pantry offers food and toiletries to any Husky looking for nutritional support. All that is needed to utilize the pantry is a Husky card.
The UW Nutritional Sciences Program's fall seminar series explores the connections between climate change, nutrition and population health.
Lectures are held every Thursday during the fall from 12:30-1:20 p.m. in the Alder Commons Auditorium. Topics include the health risks of climate change, the risks climate change presents to health and food security, and what climate change means for the global food system.

A group of UW students, working with the UW Sustainability office, created a short video with animation explaining the research of Dr. Daniel Kirschen of the UW's Clean Energy Institute, who works on using batteries to address the challenges of incorporating renewable energy into the grid. Enjoy!

UW's Green Greek Representative Program recently launched a website which will serve as both a way for them to increase awareness about what they’re doing and also as a way to ease the onboarding process.
The Environmental Innovation Practicum is looking for students from all disciplines across campus to help solve the world's environmental and cleantech challenges! Each weekly seminar will inspire you to make an impact as experts discuss the circular economy, water innovation, land use, greening the built environment, and more! In teams, you’ll put inspiration to action by identifying an environmental problem and presenting your solution to the class. No prerequisites.
