Looking to learn more about green building, sustainability, equity issues, and more? The Built Green Conference at Cascadia College on September 13th is looking for student volunteers, who will recieve a complementary ticket to the event, the opportunity to attend educational sessions, lunch, and the opportunity to network with other green building professionals.
The Built Green Conference has been occurring annually for a decade with the aim of providing valuable and cutting-edge information on green building and sustainability. Notable past keynote speakers include Robert F. Kennedy Jr., David Orr, and Denis Hayes. The conference this year will cover a variety of topics related to green building, ranging from building science to policy, from finance to post-occupancy research, and from case studies to equity and community issues. This content will be covered throughout the day, which will include a keynote address, a variety of sessions to choose from, lunch, and a book signing, all followed by an awards ceremony and reception.

Volunteering duties include:
- Host at least one education session room. This involves making sure people entering the room for the education session have a name badge, counting session attendees, giving a brief introduction to the speakers, and letting the speaker know how much time they have left. You may need to host multiple education sessions, depending on how many volunteers there are.
- Helping out either set up for the conference, which means arriving by or before 7:00am, or helping to break down the space after the conference. Please let us know what you would be interested in.
- Helping out where needed, such as with registration or with book signings during lunch.
Please note we will do our best to match volunteers with the duties and sessions they are most interested in, but this is not guaranteed. By volunteering, you are agreeing to complete the tasks you are assigned in return for free attendance.
If you’d like to volunteer please contact Leah Missik at lmissik@mbaks.com or 425-460-8238.
