Since 2012, Starbucks has grown into one of the University of Washington’s main partners on campus, with their continued efforts in uniting the student body and community through goals and initiatives.
Rasheena Fountain has recently joined our team as the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Coordinator for UW Sustainability and the Campus Sustainability Fund (CSF). Rasheena was born in Chicago but spent some of her childhood in Central Illinois. Her experience on the west side of Chicago and Central Illinois shapes her lens on the natural world and its inhabitants.

Global Renewables Infrastructure Development (GRID) is an RSO that works on designing, optimizing, installing, monitoring and assessing the societal impacts of solar energy systems, with a specific focus on projects that advance equitable access to electricity. The group has an interdisciplinary mix of graduate and undergraduate students with backgrounds in engineering, natural sciences, social sciences and more.

UW Sustainability has published updated versions of our UW Campus Sustainability Map and Sustainability Walking Tour. These new maps provide a better user experience and interactive options to discover ways we’re furthering sustainability across campus.

The Washington Higher Education Sustainability Coalition (WAHESC) is hosting "Sustainability at home" on May 12, 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. For many of us, this past year has meant our home has also served as our space for work or learning. How has this affected your personal sustainability actions? Hear from students and staff across the state of Washington about their personal sustainability actions, how the pandemic has impacted them, and what you can do to continue being a sustainability champion while "at home" or socially distanced!

The Washington & Oregon Higher Education Sustainability Conference (WOHESC) is now accepting proposals for the next conference, to be held March 2-4, 2022. The conference theme is "The Path Forward to an Equitable and Regenerative Economy." The conference program will look at fair, equitable and sustainable economies, and rebuilding with a clean, green careers-driven approach.

Kick off Spring with a green thumb! From April 22-29, stop by the HUB's North Entrance to pick up planting materials you can use to build your own garden at home. Starter materials and instructions will be provided, but you will need to upcycle or resuse a few materials to give your plant a new home.
