UW Sustainability is hiring a Sustainable Building Materials intern. This internship position will help UW Sustainability research and develop draft sustainability guidelines for materials used in UW building construction. Many materials commonly used in building and construction, such as concrete, steel, timber, and expanded polystyrene (EPS) have high embodied carbon, contribute to global greenhouse gas emissions, and present additional challenges with respect to sustainability.

Julie Ira is a junior in the Program on the Environment, studying Environmental Studies. She recently received a group Husky Green Award for her work on the leadership team for the Green Greek Representative Program. She wrote about her experience as an intern with UW Recycling for the UW Facilities' blog.

The UW Chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration is seeking undergraduate student interns for spring quarter to work with the native plant nursery. Applications are due by Monday, March 5th.

The UW Sustainability office is looking for a web developer to continue to develop a newly-launched interactive online interface for the Green Certification programs (green-certification.uw.edu), including improvements to the editing and end-user interfaces, new reporting tools and notifications as well as other improvement.
