Everyone's back on campus for the start of spring quarter, which means there are once again plenty of sustainability-related events happening around campus.
The Washington State Recycling Association has scholarships available for student who would like to attend the organization's annual conference and trade show. This year the conference is in Spokane on May 17-20. The deadline to apply is Monday, March 23 at 5 p.m.
It's a slow week for events on campus as UW concentrates on finals, but there are still a handful of sustainability talks and meetings happening. And if you're looking to get outside and work off any lingering finals stress, the UW Farm is still holding volunteer hours.

Looking for a career in an environmental field? This Wednesday, Feb. 25, join the College of the Environment and dozens of employers for the Environmental Career Fair in Mary Gates Commons.
The event is open to all UW students, and provides an opportunity to explore careers in various environmental fields. Potential employers from the nonprofit, government and private sectors will be on hand to discuss career positions and internships.

The International Institute for Sustainability Laboratories Emerald City Chapter and Environmental Education Fund, along with UW's Green Laboratory Certification Program, are hosting a special screening of the movie Chasing Ice on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 6 p.m. in the Alder Hall Auditorium.
Chasing Ice follows photographer James Balog as he sets out to document the effects of climate change on glaciers across the world. His time-lapse cameras create a record of the disappearing glaciers.

The Husky Leadership Initiative continues their Leadership Firesides series with Lieutenant General Stephen Lanza, commander of Joint Base Lewis-McChord's (JBLM) I Corps. JBLM has been a sustainability leader in the Puget Sound region for many years along with other miliatary bases.
