The Campus Sustainability Fund (CSF) has opened the application cycles for Large (over $5,000) and Mini Grants (up to $5,000). These grants are available to students at the UW's Seattle campus, enabling students to build essential skills and drive meaningful change on campus and beyond.
The CSF empowers UW students through various grants and the grantmaking process, providing resources and guidance to lead justice-centered sustainability projects. These grants enable students to build essential skills and drive meaningful change on campus and beyond. Funding decisions are made by the student committee, and grants are funded by the Services and Activities Fee.
Large Grants are for projects over $5,000 which typically require a longer implementation timeline, significant partner engagement and collaboration across units. There are generally two funding cycles each academic year. The CSF will accept Letters of Intent (LOIs) under the current cycle until November 2. Interested applicants must book a meeting with the CSF Grant & Project Coordinator before submitting.Mini Grants are for projects up to $5,000, designed for ideas with a narrow scope that can be achieved on a shorter timeline. Applications are open on a rolling basis. To expedite decisions, the CSF has set mid- and end-of-quarter deadlines which guarantee a decision by a designated date. You may hear back earlier depending on application volume. The first mini-grant deadline is set for October 19th, with decisions expected by the week of October 26th.
