The UW Athletics Green Team is looking for a student to serve as a Sustainability Intern for the 2019-2020 school year, starting in July.
The UW Combined Fund Drive and UW Tower Green Team are partnering to host a monthly sustainability film series starting March 14. Each screening will feature a local environmental nonprofit who will lead a post-screening discussion. All screenings start at 12 p.m. in the UW Tower Auditorium and are free and open to all UW faculty, staff and students. Popcorn will be sold for $1 a bag to benefit the chosen nonprofit.
Show us how you Engage for Earth. The Earth Day 2019 event is focused on raising awareness of environmental justice and engaging with diverse forms of sustainability. The Earth Day planning committee is hosting a design contest open to all UW students, faculty, staff, and alumni which may inspire this year's Earth Day promotional materials.
Civil & Environmental Engineering senior Alex Ratcliff has worked to increase solar power capacity at the University of Washington throughout his time as a student. Since joining the UW Solar student group as a freshman, Ratcliff has helped oversee new solar installations on the residence halls Maple, Alder and Elm, as well as working on solar installations for the new Life Sciences building.

Together we can tackle climate change. What would it take to turn the tide?
All Washington state high school and undergraduate students can answer that question with a short film for a chance at the $4,000 prize. The UW School of Environmental and Forest Sciences (SEFS) and EarthLab want your submissions of films that are two-minutes or less by the April 7, 2019 deadline.
Films can be submitted by individuals or teams, and can take on any genre. The judge's pick wins $4,000 and the people's choice earns a $2,500 prize.
Help shape the 2019 UW Earth Day events! Join the student planning committee which will work in conjunction with UW Sustainability and the College of the Environment to create and program this year's Earth Day celebration on April 22.
The University of Washington is hosting the 2019 Washington & Oregon Higher Education Sustainability Conference (WOHESC), February 25-27, 2019. This is the second annual WOHESC event, which brings together students, faculty and operational staff from campuses across the region, as well as community stakeholders, to advance sustainability in higher education.
Dr. Mitchell Thomashow is hosting a workshop geared toward sustainability managers, "Emerging leaders: Envisioning the future of sustainability," at the University of Washington on Feb. 28 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Alder Hall 107.
The UW Earth Day student coordinator will work with the College of the Environment, UW Sustainability, the Campus Sustainability Fund and campus student groups to help plan and coordinate the 2019 UW Earth Day celebrations. This student will recruit and lead passionate, multi-disciplinary and diverse student volunteers in a planning committee to help determine Earth Day programming, and will also coordinate volunteers for the event.
