Pac-12 Sustainability Conference hosted at UW June 25-26

The University of Washington is hosting the third annual Pac-12 Sustainability Conference on June 25-26. The Pac-12 is the collegiate sports conference to organize a high-level symposium focused entirely on integrating sustainability into college athletics and across college campuses.
Students can donate unwanted items during move out

Students who are getting ready to move out of residence halls or U District housing often have extra items as they pack up. UW Recycling makes it easy to keep those items out of the trash and ensure they go to someone who needs them.
Register for the Fall Environmental Innovation Practicum

Students can work on creating innovative solutions to environmental problems as part of the Environmental Innovation Practicum offered by the Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship. The goal of the practicum is to help students discover how cleantech solutions are addressing pressing environmental issues, and learn how they can be part of those solutions.

Environmental Justice Workshop on April 17
Do you know what environmental justice is, or what environmental hazards are in your community? Join the College of the Environment's Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for an Environmental Justice workshop, facilitated by Front and Centered, to examine environmental and health concerns across Washington. Discuss environmental justice and learn what you can do about it at 12 p.m.
Student volunteers needed for Earth Day

UW’s annual Earth Day celebration is coming up Monday, April 22, and the student planning committee is looking for volunteers to help out before, during, and after the event, as well as to table during the week leading up to Earth Day. Volunteers are not required nor expected to volunteer during the entire duration of the event .
Earth Day Intersectionality Project on April 15

The College of the Environment's Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is hosting "Intersectionality Project: UW Race & Equity / Earth Day." On April 15 in the Ethnic Cultural Center's Unity Suite at 1 - 2:30 p.m., a video featuring UW staff of color sharing their ideas on UW diversity, the environment and Earth Day from race & equity perspective will be screened.
Rebates available for high-efficiency ultra-low freezers

Since 2015 Seattle City Light has been providing rebates to departments purchasing ultra-low freezers that meet specific energy efficiency criteria. The list of approved brands and models has recently been expanded and if you are considering replacing an existing or purchasing a new ultra-low freezer, please consider purchasing one of these energy efficient models listed below.
UW Environmental Justice Conference "In-Reach before Outreach" on April 19

The 2019 Environmental Justice Conference, organized by the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in the UW College of the Environment, will focus on issues of equity and inclusive collaboration to confront climate disruption. The theme is "In-Reach before Outreach." The main goal of this conference is to reflect on our outreach strategies and look into community-based solutions.
