The Washington Higher Education Sustainability Coalition (WAHESC) is hosting "Sustainability at home" on May 12, 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. For many of us, this past year has meant our home has also served as our space for work or learning. How has this affected your personal sustainability actions? Hear from students and staff across the state of Washington about their personal sustainability actions, how the pandemic has impacted them, and what you can do to continue being a sustainability champion while "at home" or socially distanced!

Gabrielle Coeuille and Pooja Kumar are bringing a new perspective to sustainability with their presentation as part of the Washington Higher Education Sustainability Coalition (WAHESC) Digital Earth Day Seminars. Both are currently interning with UW Recycling: Gabi is the Waste Diversion & Reduction Intern and Pooja is the Waste Diversion Assistant.

As we near the end of the spring quarter, I wanted to share a recent interview I did for the Washington Higher Education Sustainability Coalition (WAHESC) newsletter. For many, the WAHESC network is a great place to meet other students, faculty and staff working on advancing sustainability in higher ed in our state.

UW Sustainability, UW Recycling, Campus Sustainability Fund, Livable City Year and many partners from around campus had the privilege to attend the 2017 Washington Higher Education Sustainability Conference (WAHESC) last week at Gonzaga University.

The 2017 Washington Higher Education Sustainability Conference will be February 16-17 in Spokane, hosted by Gonzaga University. This year’s conference promises to strengthen our commitment to advancing sustainability in higher education institutions across Washington state.

Early bird registration for the conference - a $40 savings - ends January 10. 

It’s time to submit your proposals for the 2017 Washington Higher Education Sustainability Conference. Students, faculty and staff will gather from across the region to spark a deep conversation of how to better advance sustainability at their respective institutions.

The Washington Higher Education Sustainability Coalition (WAHESC) invites you to learn about cutting edge sustainability initiatives on campuses around Washington State in this first ever state-wide broadcast. The purpose of this event is to inspire, engage, and connect our regional higher education institutions during Earth Week. The broadcast on April 20th from 4:00pm-5:00pm will feature eight short presentations from staff and student sustainability advocates representing these projects:
