I recently attended the Just Sustainability conference at Seattle University and had the opportunity to attend a breakout session with Stacy Smedley, sustainability director for Skanska Construction.

Join UW Sustainability for an exciting Green Bag presentation with Skanska Construction's Director of Sustainability Stacy Smedley. She will talk about Skanska's current sustainability initiatives and LEED standards for construction, as well as highlighting some of their current projects at UW.

The talk will be held in Parrington Hall, Room 309, on Friday, September 16th from 11 a.m. to noon. Bring your lunch and join the discussion!

Join UW Sustainability for a Green Bag lunch talk on paper reduction and Green Offices with Lily Gebrenegus, UW Grant and Contract Accounting associate director, and Chris Toman, UW Sustainability Program Specialist, on June 30 from noon to 1 p.m. in HUB 337.

The UW Office of Admissions recently started a transition from paper-based applications to a digital process. On April 14, Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions David Sundine joined us for a Green Bag talk on the process and the benefits of the new system.

At Wednesday's Green Bag, event, we were lucky to hear from Tim Stetter, director of UW in the High School, who shared how the program implemented a major process reform which saved thousands of sheets of paper each year.

The UWHS program allows high school students to complete University of Washington courses in their own classrooms. Teachers in schools across the state teach the courses, using UW curriculum, activities, texts, tests, and grading scales, and students can receive UW credit for the course.

Wednesday we're hosting a paper reduction Green Bag talk in Gerberding Hall, starting at 11:30 a.m. in room 26! We are joined by Tim Stetter, Director of the UW in the High School program who will talk about their paper reduction efforts in the last year.
