UW's Records Management Services is working to Fetch the Future and help prepare the UW to eliminate paper records by February of 2022. This April, Records Management is hosting a series of events to celebrate both Earth Day and Records Management Month, and to give staff across the UW opportunities to learn more and discuss challenges around move to all-digital records.
Records Management Virtual Coffee Houses
This series aims to get people talking to each other about how they are managing their electronic records. It's a chance to network and find a collaborator or cheerleader, share your experiences with technology solutions, Brag about successes and gripe about headaches relating to switching from paper to electronic processes. And don't forget to bring your own coffee and a doughnut.
These virtual sessions will be held on Mondays at 2 p.m. on April 5th, 12th and 19th. To join, email Emily Lemieux at elemieux@uw.edu to RSVP and receive the Zoom information.
Learn about going digital on Earth Day!
Join Records Management for an online training about managing records in your office. This session, hosted by UW Bothell campus, will include an overview of records management at the University and the resources available to all of you as we move to fully digital offices. In 2020, Records Management created new resources to support the initiative Fetch the Future – Rethink the Ink. The initiative came about because over the past few years, it has become clear that the UW is on a fast track to going digital. With Workday and other central systems, with online forms, with e-signatures – more and more records that were traditionally on paper are now being created and received electronically. We will tell you all about these resources and answer any questions you may have about maintaining your records.
