MLK Day of Service events at the Center for Urban Horticulture

There are two volunteer opportunities at the Center for Urban Horticulture this Monday, January 17, as part of the MLK Day of Service. Anyone with proof of vaccination can volunteer with the UW Farm from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. UW students also have the chance to volunteer with the Society for Ecological Restoration's Native Plant Nursery from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m.

Native Plant Nursery hiring summer interns

The Society for Ecological Restoration-UW Chapter (SER-UW) native plant nursery is seeking student interns for the summer quarter. Interns are expected to devote an average of 9 hours a week to nursery projects. In conjunction with the manager, interns will develop learning objectives based on individual interests and strengths, receiving credit for ESRM 399 or their school’s equivalent.

Society for Ecological Restoration Native Plant Nursery seeking interns

The Society for Ecological Restoration UW Chapter's native plant nursery is looking for two interns for the fall quarter - a communications intern and a plant propagation & production intern. Interns will work an average of nine hours a week on nursery projects, and can receive credit for ESRM 399 or through their school. Time will be split between routine plant maintenance, plant propagation, nursery infrastructure projects, helping with weekly volunteer work parties, and individual projects.

Native Plant Sale on May 1

The UW Society for Ecological Restoration's Native Plant Nursery is hosting a Native Plant Sale this weekend. On Sunday, May 1, come out to the Douglas Research Conservatory at the Center for Urban Horticulture from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and support your local, student-run nursery. They will be selling a variety of native plants, including Douglas Fir, Vanilla Leaf, Salmonberry and many more!
