You see the red bikes at racks across campus. Are you already a pro at using bike share to get around campus, or are you wondering how to get started? If you have questions, we've got answers.

The UW has partnered with Lime for dockless bike share on campus. Lime offers electric-assist bikes (which give you a boost as you pedal to get around the city more easily) as well as regular geared bikes. The bikes can be found and dropped off throughout Seattle as well as the UW campus.

How it works

Using the Lime bikes is easy:

The brightly-colored bikes can be seen in most corners of campus, giving users a convienent option to hop on and ride to their destination. The new dockless bike share systems allow you to easily rent a bike with a smartphone app and park at any public bike rack at UW.

UW Transportation Services has introduced a new Bike Buddy program to help new bikers gain confidence in bike commuting - just in time for Bike Month and the Bike Everywhere Challenge in May.

This Saturday (Nov. 22), explore the UW campus, discover new paths, try bike share and have fun!

The ENVIR 480 class is hosting a bike scavenger hunt ride, meeting at 10:30 a.m. on the HUB lawn. Admission is a canned food item which will be donated to the University Food Bank.

UW's Ride in the Rain Challenge will kick off Thursday evening at 7 p.m. in the Architecture Hall Auditorium (Room 147). The kickoff event will feature the award presentation for UW's recent Gold Bicycle Friendly University award - League of American Bicyclist President Andy Clarke will talk about how universities are catalysts for the creation of bicycle-friendly communities and will present the award to UW Associate Vice President for Facilities Services Charles Kennedy.
