UW Athletics is looking for an intern to assist with sustainability operations during the upcoming academic year.
Position description:
The University of Washington Department of Athletics operates an active sustainability program, focusing on waste diversion, staff, student and fan engagement, energy and water conservation, as well as the improvement and renovation of athletic facilities.
The sustainability intern is involved in all areas of the sustainability program including football game day activities, social media content, research and data collection and analysis, committee meetings and many university-wide and athletic sustainability events. Our intern plays a vital role in our growth and achievement and will have the ability to gain hands-on experience in sustainable marketing, communication, stewardship, research, events and leadership.
Our goal is to provide the sustainability intern with a comprehensive experience in all facets of the athletic sustainability movement. The intern will be involved with meaningful projects that are visible and tangible and s/he is expected to make an impact during the internship period.
We are looking for a highly talented, hard-working and enthusiastic individual that is committed to sustainable practices.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled and participating in a degree program such as or similar to the Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership program at the University of Washington.
- Must commit to a schedule consisting of 30-40 hours per week plus games and major events. Internship time period is from August to June.
A project stipend is available.
