Rethinking Prosperity, a civic engagement project of UW's Center for Communication and Civic Engagement, is hosting a screening of This Changes Everything! on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 5:30 in Communications 120.
The screening is part of the 2015 New Economy Week. The documentary, directed by Avi Lewis, was inspired by Naomi Klein's book of the same name. A description from the film's website:
The film presents seven powerful portraits of communities on the front lines, from Montana’s Powder River Basin to the Alberta Tar Sands, from the coast of South India to Beijing and beyond. Interwoven with these stories of struggle is Klein’s narration, connecting the carbon in the air with the economic system that put it there. Throughout the film, Klein builds to her most controversial and exciting idea: that we can seize the existential crisis of climate change to transform our failed economic system into something radically better.
ADVANCE REGISTRATION is required as space is limited. There is a suggested donation of $5.00 for students and $10.00 for all non-students. No one will be turned away for an inability to contribute.
