Join an Earth Day screening of Fantastic Fungi

Fantastic Fungi screening

All UW faculty, staff and students are invited to a virtual Earth Day screening of the movie "Fantastic Fungi," followed by a dicussion with fungi experts. 

UW Tacoma is hosting the screening on April 22 at 6 p.m. The visually-stunning film teaches you all about fungi, from their effects in the human body to how fungi help the Earth. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with fungi experts Erica Cline, UW Tacoma associate professor, and Renee Davis, MA, Fungi Perfecti director of Research and Development.

Movie screening of "An American Ascent" on Feb. 21

Join Voyage UW on February 21st at 7 p.m. in the Ethnic Cultural Theater for a screening of An American Ascent, a riveting documentary that follows the first African-American expedition team to tackle North America's highest peak, Denali. Rosemary Saal and Adina Scott, two climbers on the team, will join us afterwards for a Q&A about the importance on diversity and women leadership in the outdoors.

Chasing Ice screening

The International Institute for Sustainability Laboratories Emerald City Chapter and Environmental Education Fund, along with UW's Green Laboratory Certification Program, are hosting a special screening of the movie Chasing Ice on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 6 p.m. in the Alder Hall Auditorium.

Chasing Ice follows photographer James Balog as he sets out to document the effects of climate change on glaciers across the world. His time-lapse cameras create a record of the disappearing glaciers.
