Apply for a Fall 2025 grant from the CSF

The Campus Sustainability Fund (CSF) is now accepting applications for the Fall cycle of large grants (more than $5,000). The CSF is a student-run and student-funded program at the University of Washington working towards a justice-centered sustainability movement. CSF grants are available to all students or RSOs on the Seattle campus, as well as staff or faculty working with students.

This spring, the UW Earth Day Committee - made up of passionate and driven students - was the driving force behind a dynamic week of programming that celebrated sustainability in all forms. Through weekly planning meetings with my supervisor Emily and coworker Kellie, we co-created interactive and educational events that raised visibility for intersectional sustainability and highlighted the importance of environmental action.

Meet our new CSF Program Director Danny Arguetty

Danny Arguetty has joined the Campus Sustainability Fund (CSF) as Program Director. CSF, housed within and closely collaborating with UW Sustainability, is thrilled to welcome him. Danny is excited to co-lead the fund with CSF’s student staff and committee, championing the mission of justice-centered sustainability, recognizing the disproportionate negative impact of climate change on communities of color, particularly Black and Indigenous peoples.

Recap: Climate Justice & Collective Action Teach-in

This month, the CSFphoto of the event hosted our first teach-in and mixer on Climate Justice and Collective Action in collaboration with student groups on campus and community organizations in Seattle. We heard from student speakers and environmental activists from ICA, EPSA, UW Solar, UW Sustainability with the presentation focused on applying a Just Transition to the decarbonization plan at UW and local efforts in Washington.

Meet our new CSF Grant and Project Coordinator Boe Zhou

Boe Zhou

Boe Zhou is the Campus Sustainability Fund (CSF) Grant and Project Coordinator, working with students who have received CSF grants and those in the application process. Boe is pursuing a double degree in Computer Science and Environmental Studies at UW. He is enthusiastic about utilizing AI and data to create impartial and accessible solutions for environmental and societal challenges. Boe perceives CSF as the central hub for student engagement in all things sustainability, serving as the catalyst for building a resilient UW community.
