Summer sustainability internship opportunity

Glumac is looking for summer interns passionate about sustainability. The Sustainability Intern will be located in Seattle for a nine-week program from June through August, and will have the chance to work side-by-side with experienced professionals on real projects that make a tangible impact, including a chance to work on the development of the University of Washington's Sustainability Action Plan.

Hello! I am a fourth-year student majoring in environmental studies and minoring in law and justice at the University of Washington in Seattle. I am originally from the Los Angeles area in California, but desired a cooler, more green space which led me to the PNW. I have taken a special interest in social sustainability over my academic career with the intention of making people a main component of the environmental narrative.

Hi everyone! I’m Lee Hardisty (they/them), and I’m excited to join UW Sustainability as student graphic designer. I’m a junior Visual Communication Design major with a minor in Urban Ecological Design, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to do work with the intersection of my interests! Furthering human-focused, equitable sustainability has always been a cause I’ve been passionate about. I’m also the Design and Illustrations Editor for the Daily at UW, and a lot of my practical design experience comes from the newsroom.

Meet our Outreach and Events Intern Elena Hamblin

Hello everyone! My name is Elena Hamblin, and I’m thrilled to join UW Sustainability as the Outreach and Events Intern! Born and raised in Seattle, I’m a senior double majoring in Political Science and International Studies, bringing a deep passion to intersectional sustainability. My previous experience as a NextGen Climate Equity Intern at the King County Department of Natural Resources allowed me to dive into community-centered climate action, helping implement the county’s strategic climate action plan.

Meet our new CSF Program Director Danny Arguetty

Danny Arguetty has joined the Campus Sustainability Fund (CSF) as Program Director. CSF, housed within and closely collaborating with UW Sustainability, is thrilled to welcome him. Danny is excited to co-lead the fund with CSF’s student staff and committee, championing the mission of justice-centered sustainability, recognizing the disproportionate negative impact of climate change on communities of color, particularly Black and Indigenous peoples.

Meet our new Sustainability and Project Engagement Specialist Emily Adams

Emily Adams has joined UW Sustainability as the Project and Engagement Specialist. In her role, Emily will focus on engaging students and staff around sustainability. Emily comes to the University of Washington from Vici Health Sciences, a research and development focused pharmaceutical startup, where she served as the Business Development Manager. Emily brings a strong and diverse skillset to UW, including a comprehensive background in sustainable strategy, project management, and collaborative engagement.
