ISCN 2021 | Accelerating Climate Action and Sustainability in Education call for submissions

The International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) is calling for session proposals and poster presentations for its 2021 conference.

The 14th annual conference, with a theme of "Accelerating Climate Action and Sustainability in Education" will be held virtually on June 2-4, 2021. ISCN invites practitioners, researchers, students or anyone interested in sustainability to submit their proposals by the deadline of April 4, 2021. Information regarding registration, submission and templates can be found on the conference website.

ISCN 2021 gives you an opportunity to: 

  • Present your research, case studies and projects at a unique multidisciplinary conference that focuses on best practices for achieving sustainable campus operations and integrating sustainability in research and teaching.
  • Network with practitioners, academics and students that are active in the field of sustainability.

  • Tackling the climate crisis: accelerating climate action from the perspective of universities and other higher education institutions
  • Multi and trans - disciplinarity: de - compartmentalizing sustainability
  • Sustainable purchasing and public procurement
  • Mobility as an avenue to reducing carbon foot-print
  • Sustainable food: the role of higher education institutions in driving change
  • Green campus operations: Energy, waste management, low and zero carbon emissions
  • Promoting sustainability by fostering partnerships between cities and universities

Successful Submissions

Due to the significant number of submissions we receive each year, not every submission can be selected. Successful submissions will have the following qualities:

  1. Relevance to the ISCN’s mission, conference’s main theme or potential topics.
  2. Quality of proposals: The proposals should be easily understandable, clear in terms of objectives, format and outputs.
  3. Innovation: How innovative and interactive is the session proposal?
  4. Sessions should be well thought out, engaging and creative in delivering its content in a virtual context
