The Husky Green Awards recognize students, faculty, staff and teams from all UW campuses who demonstrate initiative, leadership and dedication to sustainability. The awards depend on nominations from the UW community to identify these sustainability superstars.
The 2017 UW Sustainability report highlights UW Sustainability programs and key achievements for sustainability across the University of Washington.

The University of Washington has earned recognition from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) for its sustainability performance, with special recognition in the food & dining and transportation categories.
AASHE's 2017 Sustainable Campus Index lists the UW as the second-rated university in both transportation and food & dining, and the sixth-best doctoral institution overall.
Harborview Medical Center and University of Washington Medical Center have received the Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award from Practice Greenhealth. The Top 25 Award recognizes healthcare facilities across the country that exemplify environmental excellence and are setting the highest standards for environmental practices in healthcare. This is the eleventh consecutive year for UW Medical Center to receive the top award and the sixth consecutive year for Harborview.
The University of Washington has been named to The Princeton Review’s Green Honor Roll for the seventh consecutive year.
The UW was one of 24 colleges and universities to receive the award out of 629 schools reviewed. The Green Honor Roll honors schools who receive a perfect score on The Princeton Review’s Green Rating system.
The University of Washington's new West Campus Utility Plant (WCUP) has received an Envision Gold award from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI). The Envision system rates sustainable infrastructure projects across the full range of environmental, social, and economic impacts.

Students, faculty and staff from all UW campuses are eligible to nominate and receive Husky Green Awards.
The 2017 Husky Green Award nominees include 19 individuals and seven groups from across the University of Washington who have shown a dedication to sustainability through their actions.
The Husky Green Awards are the only award program at the University of Washington which recognize a commitment to sustainability. The nominations are made by students, faculty and staff to honor the top environmental leaders at all UW campuses.
