UW Housing & Food Services, in partnership with Reuse Seattle, is evaluating options for expanding reusable products – including durable plastic cups – in several food service facilities to reduce waste at UW. They have a survey available to understand the UW community’s awareness of and attitudes toward reusables so that they can more effectively implement these services.
UW Sustainability has been working on achieving Target 5 of the UW Sustainability Action Plan: Reducing carbon emissions from air travel five percent by 2025. A working group of faculty, staff and students representing environmental science, political science, public service, procurement, and other departments and disciplines meet regularly to work towards this goal.
UW graduate student Jonathan Chen has created a UW Food System COVID-19 Survey to better understand how COVID-19 has impacted people's access to food on UW Seattle’s campus.
