Clean Energy Institute (CEI) Graduate Fellow Jenny Stein wants to pass on her love for discovery and applied research to high school students interested in STEM careers.
CEI chronicles Stein’s experiences mentoring students’ part of the STEM OUT program at TAF Academy in South Seattle. The program is run through UW’s Institute for Science & Math Education.
Stein hopes to inspire the next generation of scientists and raise awareness on the importance of researching new chemistries and materials for next generation solar materials.
“I wouldn’t be where I am today without the mentor relationships I developed in undergrad,” said Stein. “I’m hoping I can give these high school students a little practice in that area, and also be a resource to any curiosity they might have about a career in science.”
