Elena Hamblin

Hello everyone! My name is Elena Hamblin, and I’m thrilled to join UW Sustainability as the Outreach and Events Intern! Born and raised in Seattle, I’m a senior double majoring in Political Science and International Studies, bringing a deep passion to intersectional sustainability. My previous experience as a NextGen Climate Equity Intern at the King County Department of Natural Resources allowed me to dive into community-centered climate action, helping implement the county’s strategic climate action plan.

At UW Sustainability, I'll be working with the Huskies for Equitable Sustainability (HuES) group as well as other efforts. In this role, I’m eager to leverage my background in climate policy and community outreach to engage students, amplify their voices, and expand sustainability initiatives across campus. I also work as the Assistant Resident Director of Madrona Hall, where I’m dedicated to fostering leadership and community-building through programming and professional development.

In my free time, you can find me hiking, reading, or thrifting around Seattle’s neighborhoods. I'm excited to work with UW Sustainability to create a lasting impact!
