Cole Young is currently a junior pursuing a double degree in Industrial Design and Sociology, and has recently begun working as the UW Sustainability Graphic Designer. Cole is especially interested in exploring how sustainable practices and goals can inform design and lead to more positive outcomes for both consumers and the environment. With his studies in Sociology, he also hopes to better understand social structures and how design could be used to address different societal issues in order to make positive and lasting impacts on vulnerable communities. Cole is therefore very excited to be working at UW Sustainability and to have the opportunity to work towards making meaningful change.
In his free time, Cole enjoys painting, listening to music, hiking, and designing posters related to his favorite shows, musicians, and artists. He also loves to study and learn about Art History, and is currently pursuing a minor in the subject with a particular interest in Impressionism. Cole calls Cupertino, Calif., home but is incredibly thankful for the ability to both work and receive an education at the University of Washington.
