UW Recycling staff picking up SCRAM donations

Students who are getting ready to move out of residence halls or U District housing often have extra items as they pack up. UW Recycling makes it easy to keep those items out of the trash and ensure they go to someone who needs them.

If you live in a residence hall, you'll find a SCRAM (Student Cleanup, Recycle and Moveout) donation station in your building from Monday, June 10 through Saturday, June 15. These stations include areas where you can drop off clothing, food, toiletries and other items. All donations will be sorted and provided to community partners University District Foodbank, Northwest Center, Downtown Emergency Services Network (DESC), and UW Food Pantry.

UW students living north of campus can drop off their unwanted items during the Husky Neighborhood Cleanup for recycling, donation or disposal. Student ID is required, and trucks will be stationed at 17th Ave. NE & NE 47th St. on June 12, 13 and 17 from 1-5 p.m. This is an opportunity to properly get rid of items like old furniture, electronics, appliances, recyclables and even trash. Reusable items will be donated, and anything that has reached the end of its useful life will be recycled or properly disposed of.
