We’ve all heard it before: Are organic products really that much healthier than conventional ones? While most research can’t prove that organic food is more nutritious, it does contain fewer pesticides and preserves the environment.
Whereas conventional growers use synthetic pesticides to protect their crops from molds, insects, and diseases, organic farmers opt for insect traps, careful crop selection, and predator insects to control crop-damaging pests. Ultimately, organic produce typically has fewer pesticide residues than conventional produce, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Also, organic farming practices encourage soil and water conservation and reduce pollution. Farmers who grow organic produce stay way from conventional methods of fertilizing and controlling weeds. Instead, they use natural fertilizers to feed soil and plants, which helps reduce pollution.
