This will be a two-hour tour through campus paths & a short bus ride with lots of breaks and snacks in between. Each stop will showcase the creativity and collaboration that make these projects possible and an invitation to imagine what sustainability can mean in practice. We’ll visit some projects supported by the CSF and hear directly from the teams who helped bring them to life!

For both new and returning students, this is an opportunity to build community with others who care about sustainability and justice. Through this tour, you’ll get a glimpse into what sustainability can look like in practice and explore pathways that resonate with you.

Sustainable Seattle with Climate Collaboratory

Monday, Sept. 22, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Savery Hall 137

Climate Collaboratory is a student organization at the University of Washington that aims to connect students across various academic disciplines to collectively engage with environmental issues. By providing members with opportunities to think and learn collaboratively, they foster the creativity and relationships needed to build effective interdisciplinary teams. The group strives to go beyond the myopic perspectives, which are developed in the academic siloes we operate in, that neglect certain environmental issues and promote ineffective solutions. The events and activities facilitate dialogues between students and policymakers, scientists, academics, practitioners, and activists, enabling members to learn from their experiences and life stories. They showcase the importance of communicable expertise, an essential tool to enable a broad understanding of complex environmental issues. Leveraging this exposure, members are better equipped to find their space in our fight to protect our planet. This Dawg Daze event will be an info session about our work and plans for the upcoming academic year, as well as a guide on how to live sustainably in Seattle. We will cover topics such as waste management, composting, transportation and restoration, among others.
