Craving something fresh, delicious, local and sustainable? Satisfy your taste buds or learn a thing or two about sustainable living at this year’s CHOMP! festival, the first sustainability living festival organized by King County. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 13 at Marymoor Park near Redmond.

CHOMP! offers a full day of free fun where attendees of all ages can enjoy a wide variety of activities. Listen to some of Seattle’s up and coming indie artists, go on a scavenger hunt, ride bikes, jump on trampolines, and get creative with arts & crafts. Admission is free, although parking is $5.

There will also be cooking demonstrations from guest celebrity chefs, hands-on workshops to strengthen your backyard farmer skills, kids’ activities, and much more. If you get hungry, visit the farmers market featuring a special selection of fresh produce and farm products from local King County farms or enjoy locally-sourced food and beverages from the many stands available.

CHOMP! is among King County Executive Dow Constantine’s Top 20 priority actions over the next two years to help strengthen the local food economy and improve access to healthy, affordable food in underserved communities.
